As a result of much hard work by a group of willing volunteers, Braxted is now ready for MERCC’s Off-Road season to start next Sunday, 14th April, with the now traditional “Seasonal Warm-Up” Open Meeting! An important addition is the extension to the safety fencing by Race Control to prevent spectators encroaching on the track area. Also, separate speakers will be used for the rostrum and parking area.
Booking-In is 8.30 – 9.15am on the day only and all drivers (other than complete beginners who have not raced with MERCC before) will be required to produce a 2013 BRCA Licence. Failure to do this will mean that they will not be allowed to race (no exceptions). Everyone has had plenty of time to get this sorted out! Drivers racing for the first time ever at Braxted will get free entry to this Meeting.
Only drivers’ own Personal Transponders will be used for lap-counting (no hand-outs) but please note that Mylaps RC4 Purcy Personal Transponders WILL NOT BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE RACE TIMING PROGRAMME! Anyone not having a compatible PT will have to be counted manually.
Unfortunately, the road from the direction of the A12 where it crosses the small one-way bridge is closed for 3 weeks from 8th April, presumably for bridge repairs (again!). You will therefore need to access Braxted Park Road from Kelvedon, Tiptree, or Maldon. If you have Sat-Nav, make sure it is updated!
Looking forward to seeing you – fingers crossed for good weather!
